Daily Bahá'í Quote
About the Daily Bahá'í Quote Web Site

NEW QUOTE DISPLAY METHOD

The Daily Bahá´í Quote web site has a new feature this year. A new method for displaying the daily quotes is being used. The Quote from Bahá'u'lláh or The Báb, the Hidden Word, and the Prayer will all be chosen at random, rather than the old pre-formatted method.

The only problem we have noticed so far is if a visitor uses a font size larger than the original size (Medium in Internet Explorer, Normal in Foxfire or 100% in Netscape Navigator). Visitors using a screen resolution of 1280x1024 may program their browser to use a larger font size because so many sites are still programmed for 800x600 resolution and set the font at microscopic levels.

If the visitor uses a font size larger than the original size the text takes up more space than is allotted in the quote text area. See the example below.

If this happens to you, try the methods below so you can read all the text. (Note: the Text Size options won't work for the example above, but will work properly for the Today's Message page.)
  1. For Internet Explorer, your only option is to set your text size to Medium by using your browser menu options View >> Text Size >> Medium.

  2. For Foxfire you have four options:
    1. If you have a scroller mouse, simply hover the mouse over the quote text area and scroll up or down.
    2. If you do not have a scroller mouse, you can click once in the quote text area and use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll up and down.
    3. Type Ctrl+0 to set your text size to Normal.
    4. Set your text size to Normal by using your browser menu options View >> Text Size >> Normal.

  3. For Netscape Navigator you have four options:
    1. If you have a scroller mouse, simply hover the mouse over the quote text area and scroll up or down.
    2. If you do not have a scroller mouse, you can click once in the quote text area and use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll up and down.
    3. Type Ctrl+0 to set your text size to 100%.
    4. Set your text size to 100% by using your browser menu options View >> Text Zoom >> 100% (Original Size).

GLOSSARY IN PROGRESS

The Glossary of Bahá'í Terms has many new terms and a new index page to make finding terms fast and easy.

Since the Glossary is a work in progress, a few terms have not yet been defined. We are going to continue to add to the Glossary as new terms are needed.

Navigation: On the Glossary Index page the alphabetical navigation bar links go to the section of the Index page for the corresponding letter so you can find the term you are looking for quickly.

On the term pages the alphabetical navigation bar links go the term page corresponding to the letter. The Glossary Index link on each term page goes to the section of the Index page corresponding to the letter of the page you are on.
